Cold water dipping is good exercise for all age groups but in particular a healthy pastime as we get older. Open water dipping is dipping in the sea and the best time to start this is NOW, when the water is much warmer and your body gradually acclimatises itself to the waters.
Cold water boosts the level of dopamine, aka the "happy" hormone. The body also releases endorphins into your system, these are the body's natural painkillers.
Please note: You must have a certain level of fitness to join this group - you must be able to enter the water and complete the dip on your own, or with your carer. Under no circumstances should reliance be placed on other members of the group.
The group meets on ad hoc basis, dependent on the weather. New members are welcome.
